Cookie policy

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep, such as the contents of your bag or your language. This policy also covers similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels.

First-party cookies are set by this store. Third-party cookies are set by other companies whose code runs on a page.

These cookies make the store work. They keep your bag, carry you through checkout, keep you signed in and protect the store against fraud.

The law does not require consent for them, and they cannot be switched off from our side. If you block them in your browser, the bag and the checkout stop working.

Preference cookies remember choices such as your language. Analytics cookies give us visit statistics, such as the pages viewed and the step where a checkout is abandoned: we see totals, not individuals. Marketing cookies measure whether an advert led to a visit or an order.

Shopify only uses these three categories with your consent. Your country and currency are the exception: they are needed to show the right prices, so they are kept with the strictly necessary cookies. Refusing the optional categories has no effect on browsing, ordering or paying.

Our store runs on Shopify, which sets its own cookies so the bag and the checkout work. The main ones are:
cart, cart_ts and cart_ver: the contents of your bag;
_secure_session_id: your checkout session;
secure_customer_sig and checkout_token: your sign-in and the order being paid;
_shopify_essential and _tracking_consent: they keep the store and your cookie choice working;
localization and cart_currency: your country and currency;
_shopify_analytics: visit statistics, only with your consent to analytics cookies;
_shopify_marketing: marketing, only with your consent to marketing cookies.
Shopify can rename these cookies. Your browser settings always show the current list.

Shopify runs the store, its checkout and its built-in statistics. Shop Pay, Shopify's express checkout, sets a cookie on shop.app so that it works. hCaptcha protects our sign-up and contact forms against spam. Judge.me shows product reviews. UpPromote runs our affiliate program: it records which affiliate link brought you here and can load Meta's advertising script. Our fonts are served by this store, not by a third-party service.

The Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and the TikTok pixel only run if you accept marketing cookies. They measure visits, products viewed, items added to the bag, checkouts started and purchases, including the amounts, so that we can see which adverts lead to a visit or an order. Meta also receives these events from Shopify's servers, with your contact details in hashed form when you have given them to us. To withdraw your consent, use the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.

At checkout, payment providers set their own cookies to prevent fraud. These cookies are strictly necessary.

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Other cookies expire on a set date, after a few minutes for some and up to 12 months for most.

Clearing your cookies deletes them all, including your cookie choice.

Where the law requires it, a banner asks for your choice on your first visit. Accept turns everything on. Choose what opens the categories, where you switch each one on or off, or turn the lot off with Refuse all. Nothing optional is ticked in advance.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page, and changing it back is the same two clicks. Refusing cookies changes nothing about what you can buy, the price you pay or your order.

Your browser lets you view, delete or block cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking all cookies stops the bag and the checkout from working.

Advertising platforms also offer their own privacy settings in your account with them.

When a cookie holds an identifier, it can count as personal data. Our legal basis is your consent, except for strictly necessary cookies, which rest on our legitimate interest in running the store.

You can withdraw your consent at any time and exercise your other rights as described in our privacy policy, by writing to contact@sneakpen.com.

We update this page when the tools on the store change. The date at the top shows the current version.
