Terms of use for the SneakPen app
The app is free, needs no account, and keeps everything you write on your own device. These terms cover the app only — buying a pen is governed by the terms of service instead.

1What these terms cover
They cover the SneakPen app: the editor you use to compose a revision card, its templates, its formula editor, and the export and printing features that come with it.
They do not cover anything you buy from this shop. An order for a pen, a printer or a pack of scrolls is governed by the terms of service, the refund policy and the warranty.
By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it — nothing is lost, because there is no account to close.
2What the app is, and what it is not
It is a tool for writing something small and printing it. It puts your words on a page 40 mm wide, so they fit on the ribbon that lives inside the pen.
It is not a cloud service. There is no server holding your notes, no synchronisation between your phone and your laptop, and no backup we can restore for you. That is a deliberate choice — it is why the app needs no account and works with no signal — but it means the responsibility for keeping your work sits with you.
3Your notes stay on your device
Everything you type is written to your browser's local storage on the device you are using. It is not uploaded, not read by us, and not shared with anyone.
Because nothing leaves your device:
- we cannot see your cards, recover them, or tell you what was in them;
- clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or uninstalling the app removes them for good;
- a different phone or a different browser starts empty.
Use Export JSON to take a copy, and Import to put it back. That file is your backup, and it is the only one that exists.
4What you write is yours, and your responsibility
You keep every right in the text you write. We claim nothing over it, and we never see it.
In return, you are responsible for what you compose and print. Do not use the app to produce material that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's copyright, or that is designed to harass or defame. The app performs no checks and applies no filter — that judgement is yours.
Where you use the app to revise, follow the rules of your school, university or examining body. Whether a printed aid is allowed in a given room is a question for them, not for us.
5Printing over Bluetooth
Printing to the SneakPrint uses Web Bluetooth, a browser feature. Your browser will ask permission before the app can talk to the printer, and that permission can be withdrawn at any time in your browser settings.
Not every browser supports it. On iPhone and iPad, Safari does not — export the PDF and print it from the share sheet instead. Support elsewhere depends on your browser and its version, and can change when the browser updates. We test what we can, but the feature is not ours to guarantee.
6Availability, updates and the end of the road
The app is offered free of charge and provided as it is. We may change how it works, add or remove features, or stop offering it altogether.
If we ever discontinue it, we will say so on this page and leave the export function working for as long as we reasonably can, so you can take your library with you.
Because the app is installed and cached on your device, an old version can keep running until you reconnect. Reopening it with a connection loads the current one.
7Intellectual property
The app, its interface, its wording, its templates and its code belong to [Company name] or are used with permission. The SneakPen name and wordmark are ours.
You may use the app for your own revision, at school, at university or at work, including where that work is paid. You may not copy the interface, resell access to it, or present it as your own product.
The subject templates are starting points, offered for you to rewrite. Anything you make from them is yours.
8No warranty, and the limits of what we owe
The app is free and provided without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be free of faults, that it will work on every device, or that a print will always come out as it looked on screen.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost notes, a failed print, a missed deadline, or any indirect loss arising from using the app. Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
9Age
The app is not directed at children under 13. It collects nothing and asks for nothing, but if you are under 13, use it with a parent or guardian's agreement.
10Things outside our control
Your browser, your operating system, your device's storage limits and your printer's firmware all affect how the app behaves, and none of them is ours. A browser update can change what Web Bluetooth allows; a phone running low on space can evict stored data.
Where a problem comes from one of those, we will help you work around it if we can, but we cannot fix it at the source.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by [Governing law]. Any dispute we cannot settle between us may be brought before [Courts]. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
12Changes to these terms
We may update this page when the app changes. The date at the top always says when it was last touched.
If a change materially reduces what you can do with the app, we will say so plainly at the top of this page rather than hoping you notice.
